The Cherrin Law Group is a full service law firm with the unique ability to represent

Our firm’s strong strategic communications background and relationships in Congress can help position clients in front of Congress and the various federal agencies and deliver your message to key policymakers. We bring vast experience in assisting businesses to communicate with federal policy makers on complex legislative issues in every major area, from health care to homeland security to trade and transportation.

We also offer clients in-depth political analysis of local governments whose politics may be complicated but unknown. Our relationships and depth of experience with key issues and personalities helps bring credibility and results for our clients. This includes negotiating incentives offered by state and local governments. We help clients identify which incentives fit their project and we help negotiate the incentives for our clients. First Amendment | FOIA | Media Law
Our firm provides legal guidance to clients, on issues such as: defamation, infringement claims, privacy and publicity concerns and licensing issues. We also provide a legal analysis of content prior to distribution. For example, we are available to review online or traditional content for compliance with legal regulations such as obscenity, harmful materials laws, records keeping concerns, copyright, trademark and other legal issues. We also assist our clients with FOIA requests and appeals.

Grassroots Advocacy, Coalition Building &
Strategic Partnerships -- To speak more forcefully and to show the wide ranging impact of issues, the Cherrin Law Group through its strategic partner, North Coast Strategies, organizes, recruits, mobilizes and engages coalitions of stakeholders to support or oppose an issue on behalf of our clients. CLG helps clients identify vulnerabilities, manage risks, enhance security and minimize the threat while providing the latest regulatory insight into emerging issues.

CLG also provides a full range of business-related immigration services to individuals, as well as to regional, national and international corporations. Depending on the immigration service required, we are our able to assist clients with submission of petitions to the Immigration and Naturalization Service, representation in administrative hearings, as well as appeals to the Board of Immigration Appeals and the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals. This includes issues involving: non-immigrant visas (B-1, B-2, E-1, E-2, H-1B, H-2, H-3, L-1, TN, F or J), extensions or adjustments to status, Green Cards, Labor Certifications, Employer sanctions and consular processing.

Investor Relations | Litigation Communications
Companies today are facing increasing challenges from regulatory and legislative authorities.  Many also are the subject of unwanted public attention from regulatory inquiries, shareholders lawsuits, whistle blower accusations, bankruptcies and other potential PR crises.  We work with our corporate clients where securities laws and the need to communicate with investors or others collide. Our firm helps companies manage legal crisis, weigh and respond to a variety of risks, communicate good news and bad news and otherwise work to minimize their risk and protect and enhance their corporate reputation in the public's eye. Our attorneys understand how the media works and how companies can use the media, both traditional and social media, to protect their reputation and legally promote their company to the market.

Public Private Partnerships| Public Finance
Through our experience with the City of Detroit, Detroit Windsor Tunnel and Lake Erie Ferry Project, we work with our clients and the various legislative agencies to develop creative solutions to very difficult infrastructure and financial problems. CLG has experience in developing public private partnerships (p3) and identifying creative funding solutions to various community needs.  We help our clients negotiate and close complex housing, industrial, commercial, mixed-use & transportation projects and otherwise build relationships with government to complete and/or manage specific projects.

Social Security
We also represent clients in need of appealing their social security. Generally, a social security appeal has four levels: Reconsideration; Hearing by an administrative law judge; Review by the Appeals Council; and, Federal Court review. We are available to work with our clients at any stage in the appeal process.

State and Local Taxation
We work with clients who have tax issues with the state Treasury Department, county assessors and similar tax collecting entities.  We also counsel clients in structuring business transactions to minimize any tax impacts.

CLG has experience has experience with the transportation and logistics industries in the United States and Canada.  We give advice on regulatory and legislative issues as it relates to infrastructure project development, financing, construction and operations.

Led by Daniel Cherrin, an attorney, lobbyist and public relations executive, CLG provides legislative counseling in the domestic and international public and private sectors.  CLG attorneys counsel
